Rab Stretch Neo Jacket

The Rab Stretch Neo Jacket was recently awarded clothing product of the year 2012 by TGO in their Great Outdoor awards.  The Stretch Neo Jacket has been described as revolutionary.  It is both extremely breathable and waterproof, intended for high intensity activity that require freedom of movement, comfort and protection in harsh conditions.

The jacket is designed with Polartec NeoShell fabric.  A new fabric from Rab that combines the comfort and breathbility of a softshell jacket with the all weather performance of a hardshell.

The Jacket is called the Stretch Neo as the fabric is built to stretch allowing and full range of movements.  This makes it an excellent choice for climbing or fast alpine activities.  The jacket is also very versitaile for a wide range of uses with a medium active cut, a range of secure pockets for storage and fully adjustable cuffs and hem, as well as a helmet compatible hood with a wired peak.

At the time of writing Cotswold Outdoor readers have reviewed the product 4.7 out of 5 stars after 6 reviews.  Their comments include -

it’s warm when you’re not doing much (sitting around in a blizzard), but at the same time not overly warm and breathes when you’re doing a lot (running up the side of a mountain).

Hardly feels like you have it on, lightweight, water just beads away - breaths INCREDIBLY well (the best ive had)

The jacket is very light, but still feels sturdy enough to take the rough and tumble (and tumble I did) of the outdoors and the inclement weather that Scotland can throw at you

The jacket is watertight. I saw no evidence of any leakage (and believe me Stob Diamh was very wet this weekend.)

Here’s a great hands on video we found on You Tube from Backpackers Review
