MSR Micro Pocket Rocket
From the archive: originally posted on ProCamping in 2012, when this was a new addition to MSR's stove range — distinct from the classic MSR PocketRocket covered elsewhere on this site. MSR's line-up has moved on since, so check their current range.
MSR's Micro PocketRocket was the newest in their range of lightweight camping stoves at the time. It's their smallest and lightest stove, offering the best mix of size, weight, price and performance.
It's simple to use, with a handheld Piezo ignition included, and can boil a litre of water in 3.5 minutes.
You may be familiar with the original PocketRocket stove and be asking how this is better. The biggest improvements are improved stability thanks to new pot supports, and a smaller packed size.
- Compact: folding legs pack exceptionally small, fitting into an MSR Insulated Mug
- Light: weighs just 73g (2.6oz)
- Strong: pot supports located close to the burner head for excellent stability
- Wind-resistant: concave burner head with WindClip protection pushes a persistent, solid flame
- Fast: boils 1 litre of water in just 3.5 minutes
- Piezo ignition: tubular design offers excellent durability and captures gas for reliable ignition
